We’ve previously established that it’s extremely human. People are drawn to humanity;
Why do we laugh?
What makes comedy funny?
Some form of human, familiar response.
Why do we cry over a staged tragedy?
How can we not get caught up and drawn in to this beauty?
It’s important to have this kind of work grab a hold of audiences- not by shock tactics, not by the surprise, but by its sheer humanity; if we see this honesty in a performance, it will cause some form of reaction in us. It automatically causes a response, which leaves the door open to reflection. And who knows what can happen then? But the most important thing, is that it will cause people to stop, and think.
I don’t know about you, but any work that does that for me is thrilling, healthy, and positive. I can’t not do something about it. I hope that this work does the same thing for our audiences.
So, if you are looking for a reason to vote today, do it because it is engaging, and has a habit of causing people to reflect.
